For protecting and decorating the wooden doors, furniture or ornamentations, you can paint the surface with colour lacquers or show the natural beauty of the wood grains by applying a transparent lacquer. And, both application procedures are very simple!
Painting Procedures
Step 1 : Painting Tools Preparation
- Fine Sand Paper
- Putty Knife
- Paint Brush/ Paint Roller
- Soft cotton cloth
Step 2 : Surface Preparation
A. Normal Surface
- Sand down the surface with fine sand paper to have a flat finish.
- Wipe the surface with a tack cloth to remove all dust particles. Make the surfaces be clean, dry and wax-free.
B. Cracking/ Irregular Surface
- Fill up minor cracks and smooth out surface irregularities with Flower Patching Paste #901HK / Giraffe Transparent Putty #991 (Sales in China only) and sanding to reach the smoothness requirement.
- Wipe the surface with a tack cloth to remove all dust particles. Make the surfaces be clean, dry and wax-free.
Step 3: Priming/ Undercoating (If necessary)
- After cleaning and patching up the wood surface, apply 1 coat of suitable primer by paint brush or spray, so as to provide a strong adhering foundation for the paint systems.
- For a better result, apply 1 more coat of undercoat before topcoating.

Step 4 : Topcoating
- After priming/ undercoating, apply the topcoat on top of the dry surface.

Step 5: Rubbing (Suitable for transparent lacquers)
- Dilute the paint with thinner until it becomes watery
- Wrap some cotton with a piece of soft cloth and dip into the diluted paint. Rub on the paint surface until all the marks disappear.
Health & Safety Precautions:
- Provide adequate ventilation during paint application.
- Wear fume masks and protective clothings to protect the eye from the paint chips or dust, and avoid skin contact or inhalation of spray mist.
- If the product comes in contact with the skin, wash thoroughly with luke warm water, and soap or suitable cleanser.
- If the eyes are contaminated, flush with water or diluted boric acid solution for minimum 10 minutes and obtain medical attention at once.
- Close the lid tightly after use and store at a cool, dry place, so as to prevent the evaporation of the paint and to reduce the risk of fire hazards by avoiding sparks and open flames.
- Keep out of reach of children.
